Colleen Daugherty, MS, MA, LMHCA
Hello! I am a trauma-certified mental health therapist and gerontologist who works with adults navigating tough transitions—like divorce, grief, emotional abuse, or that overwhelming sense of being stuck. Many of my clients are healing from codependency, people-pleasing, or painful relationship dynamics like narcissistic or psychological abuse. Some are facing big life changes and just need a space to pause, reflect, and figure out what’s next.
-
In our work together, I aim to create a space that feels safe, supportive, and judgment-free. I use a blend of approaches—like Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), somatic and mindfulness practices, and sound-based therapies—to help process old wounds, reduce distress, and build healthier patterns. These techniques are designed to work gently but effectively, especially for those who’ve felt overwhelmed by traditional talk therapy in the past.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent years supporting older adults and their caregivers. I also hold a Master’s degree in Gerontology, which gives me a unique lens when working with aging, caregiver stress, or the adult children of aging or chronically ill parents. While that background still informs my work, I now focus more broadly on the emotional experiences that connect us all—grief, trauma, relationship pain, and the search for meaning and stability.
Whether you're moving through loss, starting over, or working to untangle long-standing patterns, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.
